The Twins will activate reliever Joe Nathan from the 15-day disabled list in time for Friday's game against the Brewers. Nathan has been out since May 24 with a flexor muscle strain. He worked out in Fort Myers, Fla., then was sent to Class AAA Rochester, where he gave up an unearned run over two appearances totaling three innings.
To make room, the Twins will option righthander Jim Hoey to Class AAA Rochester.
The Twins were expected to send down a catcher to make room for the return of Jim Thome, but they have decided to wait a day to make sure Thome is ready to play after recovering from a sore back and quadriceps. They could also still be debating the move.
