Denard Span must be pretty exhausted after all those early-morning workouts with teammate Orlando Hudson this week. He seemed to trail off a little bit in that tweet, which ended up making very little sense. I suppose that's what happens when the 'O'-larm clock drags you out of a warm, cozy bed at 5:30am to pump some iron. Man, that guy is chipper.

[drum roll...] Your Minnesota Twins lineup for this evening's delicious Grapefruit League opener against the Boston Red Sox...

Denard Span CF
Alexi Casilla 2B
Jason Kubel DH
Michael Cuddyer RF
Jacque Jones LF
Brendan Harris 3B
Brock Peterson 1B
Drew Butera C
Matt Tolbert SS

Nick Blackburn is scheduled to make the start with Kevin Slowey backing him up against Josh Beckett and the Sox in the first of this three game, Mayor's Cup series at City of Palms Park at 6:05pm. Fully-recovered reliever Pat Neshek will be taking the hill for one inning of relief Thursday night, according to John Gordon, who relayed this from his blog: "And is he ever excited."

I can just about hear Gordo's voice in those words. Not only can you catch all three games of this series on mlb.tv, but you can listen to them live on the Twins Radio Network, as well.

Also, my favorite rockstar/baseball analyst, Peter Gammons, had some pretty nice things to say recently about Delmon Young, who is looking mighty trim these days after dropping 35 pounds, in this video around the 3:18 mark.

Meanwhile, As The Joe Mauer Turns, agent Ron Shapiro has landed in Fort Myers, hopefully with the intention of landing his client a big, fat contract. La Velle provided us with all the details late last night.

While we continue to wait patiently for that to go down, I'd love your thoughts on tonight's game. Will you be watching, listening, or better yet, will you be in attendance? Who are you most excited to see in action? You guys, there is a real, live, pretend baseball game happening tonight. Finally.
