Twins outfielder Denard Span has been talking with Justin Morneau about what to expect during his recovery from his concussion. Span already is struggling with one aspect.
There are times he feels good and wants to do more. But he must be patient. On Wednesday, he was allowed to stretch with the team but only stretch. He soon headed back in the clubhouse.
``He told me there will be a lot of mood swings," Span said. ``A lot of ups and downs."
Span felt great on Tuesday - but he was coming off of a full off day. On Tuesday, he worked out. So on Wednesday, he started feeling fatigued and experienced some of the other symptoms that point to a concussion.
Span can come off the disabled as soon as Thursday. But he's not ready to return to action. It looks like it could be several days before he's be ready. With concussion awareness at an all-time high, you can bet the Twins will be extremely careful.
Etc.
Carl Pavano is 2-1, 2.24 over his last seven starts.
Twins starters have a 1.97 ERA since June 1. It has been huge for the bullpen. Especially closer Matt Capps, who's had forearn and wrist issues in recent weeks..
