Twins place Blaine Boyer on disabled list, promote Tonkin

The Twins have placed relief pitcher Blaine Boyer on the disabled list because of a sore right elbow. Michael Tonkin has been called up from Rochester.

Boyer has a 2-4 record and 2.98 ERA in 51 appearances for the Twins

Tonkin was with the Twins earlier this season, pitching 11 innings and posting a 5.73 ERA.
