The Twins announced after Wednesday's game that they have optioned catcher Josmil Pinto to Rochester.
The player who will replace him will be announced before Friday's game at Detroit.
In 43 games for the Twins, Pinto hit .222 in 135 at-bats with four doubles, seven home runs, 16 RBI and 20 walks.
