Twins officially sign Addison Reed, designate Buddy Boshers for reassignment

Reed's deal is two years and $16.75 million. Boshers has 24 hours to clear waivers and be reassigned.

The Twins officially announced the signing of reliever Addison Reed to a two-year, $16.75 million contract.

The signing was first reported Saturday.

Buddy Boshers was designated for assignment to make room on the team's 40-man roster.

Reed is a seven-year veteran who has pitched for the White Sox, Diamondbacks, Mets and Red Sox. In 410 major league games he is 18-21 with a 3.40 ERA and 125 saves, with 425 strikeouts and 103 walks in 402 innings.
