TWINS UPDATE
This is the Twins' second trip to Miami. They took two of three games in June 2007, when Justin Morneau had to spend a night in the hospital because of a bruised lung suffered in a home-plate collision with catcher Miguel Olivo. … Correia has given up 15 home runs this season and is well on the way to passing his single-season high of 24, given up in 2011. But his walks per nine innings (1.3) is well below anything he's done in his career. … Lefthander Caleb Theilbar has handled the situations he's been given very well, beginning his career with 13⅔ scoreless innings. … This is the Twins' final interleague series of the season, although they also have a makeup game with the Mets on Aug. 19.
MARLINS UPDATE
Jose Fernandez made just 11 starts in Class A last season, but Miami had him on the Opening Day roster. And the 20-year old has held his own, thanks to a powerful fastball and major curveball. This month, he is 2-1 with a 1.65 ERA with eight walks and 29 strikeouts in 27⅓ innings. … Kevin Slowey made the Marlins rotation out of camp and was 2-1 with a 1.81 ERA on May 5. That's when his season went haywire, and the former Twins righthander was recently sent to the bullpen. … Koehler is making his first appearance ever against the Twins. He played at Stony Brook University, the same school that produced Joe Nathan.

about the writer
The value of the Twins has grown exponentially in 40 years. The price of the Wolves nearly doubled in three years. The increases have put club ownership out of reach for even ‘minor billionaires.’
