Twins/Mets rained out in Fort Myers

Twins/Mets game canceled by rain

March 12, 2010 at 3:38PM

FORT MYERS, FLA -- I can't remember ever seeing rain like this. More than five inches already in the Fort Myers area.

The Star Tribune compound here sits next to a man-made lake, and that lake is pushing its way up our backyard. There's more rain in the forecast all day, and yet, the Twins are pushing forward in hopes of playing baseball today against the Mets, who are coming via bus from the other side of Florida.

Update: Joe Mauer said his right shoulder is pretty sore from the foul tip he took in last night's game against the Orioles. He's in good spirits, though. Guessing he'd play through this if it were the regular season.

Update: Today's game has been cancelled.
