The upcoming return of Ervin Santana creates an interesting problem:

With Ervin Santana starting to make tuneup starts in anticipation of a return from his 80-game suspension, the Twins could be confronted with a nice problem to have: a tough decision on which starter Santana displaces in the rotation.

Phil Hughes and Kyle Gibson are mainstays. Mike Pelfrey has pitched like one all year. Trevor May has a 3.09 ERA in his past seven starts. Tommy Milone would be the logical choice but has been brilliant his past two starts. This doesn't even take into account Ricky Nolasco. A lot can obviously change, but for now the Twins are experiencing a strange abundance.

Thumbs up

The ball-tracking visual arc that Fox showed on U.S. Open tee shots was oddly mesmerizing and definitely informative.
