Twins-Marlins on television today - lineup change!

Twins v Marlins

March 14, 2011 at 4:19PM

There has been a Bert Blyleven sighting on campus, which means FSN must be televising today's Twins-Marlins game.

Jack Morris is teaming with Dan Gladden for the radio broadcast, so former Twins will have their fingerprints and sound bites all over this one.

It wasn't too long ago when a Twins player would get cut from camp, pack his bags and make the walk of shame from the major league clubhouse to the minor league side. I would pull up in the morning and see someone like Dan Serafini marching out of Hammond Stadium, ticked off.

Now players get rides and have their bags thrown on a separate vehicle. Oh, for the old days...

Anyway, the Twins cut 14 players from camp today.

Righthanders David Bromberg, Anthony Swarzak and Eric Hacker and outfielder Rene Tosoni were optioned to Class AAA Rochester.

Righthander Deolis Guerra, first baseman Chris Parmelee and outfielder Joe Benson were optioned to Class AA New Britain.

Righthanders Yorman Bazardo and Kyle Gibson, catchers Jair Fernandez and Chris Hermann and infielders Ray Chang, Brian Dozier and Justin Huber were reassigned to the minor league camp.

Had my 73rd conversation with Michael Cuddyer this spring. And I continue to learn things. We were talking about Joe Mauer admitting that he couldn't use his back leg much when he hit last season because of his sore left knee.

``I know where he's coming from," Cuddyer said. ``I didn't have my back leg for like 12 months."

Cuddyer had surgery to clean up his right knee during the offseason. But I didn't know his knee bothered him all of last season.
