Twins look for series win against Jays

After blowing three different leads, the Twins dropped Game 2 to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 6-5 Wednesday evening at Rogers Centre. Kevin Slowey allowed five runs on nine hits in just over six innings, with a walk and four strikeouts. Vernon Wells finally snapped his 0-for-21 slump, just in time to give the Blue Jays their second win in 10 games with a two-out double off struggling reliever Matt Guerrier.

Meanwhile, Orlando Hudson was a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with three RBI against his former team. Delmon Young went deep with his 10th homer of the season, but injured his left wrist colliding with Denard Span during Jose Bautista's inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning.

Justin Morneau was also hurt, taking a knee to the head while sliding into John McDonald at second base in the eighth. He walked off the field under his own power, but did not return. Ron Gardenhire says both players could return to the lineup for Thursday night's series finale at 7:07pm, but he's going to sleep on it and see how they feel in the morning.

Game 3 will feature Scott Baker on the hill for the Twins facing lefty Brett Cecil, who is 1-0 in one career start against Minnesota with a 3.00 ERA. Span went yard off of him while Young, Michael Cuddyer and Nick Punto each hit doubles.
