The Twins will recall lefty Buddy Boshers on Friday as starter Hector Santiago goes on bereavement leave following the death of his grandmother. … The Twins began the season with a sweep of the Royals at Target Field, but they were 1-9 at Kauffman Stadium last season. … Eddie Rosario's nine-game hitting streak is a career high and the longest by a Twin this season. … The grand slam by Texas' Ryan Rua on Wednesday was the second given up by the pitching staff this season ... Look for Eduardo Escobar to be in the lineup Friday. He's a .438 hitter with one home run against Kennedy.

ROYALS UPDATE

Kansas City has lost seven in a row, dropping four games at Texas and three at Chicago, and has been outscored 41-13 during that time. No, the Twins' sweep of the Royals in the opening series might not have been a fluke. … Kennedy is 4-2 with a 3.78 ERA in eight career starts against the Twins, but the Royals have scored just two runs in 26 innings for Kennedy this season. … The Royals have scored 54 runs in 21 games, by far the fewest in the majors.
