After a nearly three-hour delay, the Twins' game against Cleveland has been postphoned because of rain.
No makeup date has been scheduled.
Cleveland was ahead 1-0 when the game was called in the top of the third inning. The Indians look the lead three pitches into the game when Shin-Soo Choo drove in Ezequiel Carrera with a single.
Drew Butera just ran out and dove headfirst into the tarp, sliding for about 20 feet.
If there's a team that could use a rainout, it's the Minnesota Twins.
Joe Mauer told manager Ron Gardenhire he needed a day off because of general soreness. That's too bad for the Twins, because he's batting a whopping .474 off of Cleveland starter David huff with a homer,
Denard Span needed a day off too. And he's 6-for-15 (.400) against Huff. But Span's issue in more troubling. He still doesn't feel 100 percent coming back from his concussion. He recently started taking new medication to help him get through it, but he said needed a day to regroup.
``I'm on new medication and need to get used to that," Span said. ``I'm trying to do the best I can.I'm battling."
