Hector Santiago looked all business as he headed to the bullpen for his throwing session this morning. The lefthander wants to prove he's ready to come off the disabled list in time to face Cleveland on Saturday, and Twins manager Paul Molitor will wait to see how Santiago's session turns out.
Or, the Twins might have something else in mind for the second game of Saturdays day-night doubleheader.
"I am going to see how Hector does today," Molitor said. "That is part of the information we can gather to help make the best decision. We have a good idea of how it is going to unfold, given logistics of people involved, but we are going to have to hold off on announcing it at least until tomorrow."
Brian Dozier is going to get a day off soon, but today is not the day, with a lefthander on the mound. "We had a little discussion about if we should try to get him a blow in here some day before the off-day, which is tough with Cleveland coming in. We're just going day-by-day with him."
Seattle lefty Ariel Miranda has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last six starts.
