Finally. After nearly three decades all cooped up inside the Metrodome, the Twins, sporting some sharp '61 throwback unis, opened Target Field with a 5-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Monday in front of 39,715 fans.

Here are some memorable quotes from the afternoon...

"I'll remember this for the rest of my life." -- Jason Kubel, who hit the first Target Field home run of the regular season.

"I thought I hit it better than that." -- David Ortiz on his warning track power.

"I've been waiting a long time. It's definitely a special place, and I'm glad it's here." -- Joe Mauer, who went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI in the victory.

"I just stunk. Didn't make pitches, and I really don't know what else to say." -- Jon Lester on sucking yesterday.

"Joe took about 45 minutes to do all of his interviews. I mean, c'mon." -- Michael Cuddyer, chuckling, on the wonders of Mauer.

"It was colder in spring training than here today. All around, a perfect day for everybody." -- Floridian Denard Span on the weather.

"It's beautiful." -- Red Sox manager Terry Francona.

"Am I going to miss the Dome? Absolutely not." -- Frank Viola, who helped the Twins win a World Series title in 1987.

"This place is going to last a long time, and it's a special place." -- Ron Gardenhire on his team's new hangout.

What are your thoughts on the Home Opener win? Were you in attendance? I want your quotes. Also, if you have pictures of you and your buddies at the new ballpark and you'd like me to show them off for you, email me and I'll do my best to get them in a post this season.
