Twins-Guardians series preview: Pitching probables, injury report, radio-TV information

The Twins have traded nearly a dozen players in the past week and will definitely be a “new look” team.

TWINS UPDATE

The Twins (51-57) were idle Thursday on the field, but not in the front office. Eight players were traded at the MLB deadline, making a total of 11 for the week. ... The Twins are 2-4 against the Guardians this season. They lost three of four from April 28-May 1 in Cleveland and the teams split a doubleheader May 21 at Target Field. The series opener on May 19 was suspended and the teams were rained out the next day. The postponed game will be made up at Target Field on Sept. 20. ... The Twins are 11-14 against AL Central teams this season.

OF Byron Buxton (left rib cartilage irritation) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday, retroactive to July 27. It is his second stint on the injured list this season. He spent two weeks in May on the concussion list. ... RHP Bailey Ober (left hip impingement), who has made two rehab starts for the Triple-A Saints, and 2B Luke Keaschall (right forearm fracture), who has been on a rehab assignment with the Saints since July 18, could be activated this weekend.

RHP David Festa (right shoulder inflammation), LHP Anthony Misiewicz (left pectoral strain) and RHP Pablo López (right teres major strain) are out. ... After the three games in Cleveland, the Twins will open a three-game series on Monday in Detroit.

CLEVELAND UPDATE

The Guardians (54-54) won two of three from Colorado to improve to 14-6 — the best in the AL since July 7. ... The Guardians are 18-11 against AL Central teams.

OF Lane Thomas (right foot plantar fasciitis) is out. ... RHP Shane Bieber (right UCL tear), who hasn’t pitched in a regular-season game since April 2, 2024, was traded to Toronto on Thursday in exchange for minor-league RHP Khal Stephen. Bieber made a rehab start for Class AA Erie on Tuesday.
