While the Twins take on Toronto, Glen Perkins and Casey Fien will pitch in a minor league game on one of the back fields. It's that time of spring where pitchers throw on back-to-back days to prepare for how they will be used during the regular season. Perkins pitched in Tuesday's game - right before the rain came down. So this will be his chance to throw on consecutive days.

Daniel Palka, who has three home runs in three games, is back as an extra player. So is righthander Alex Wimmers, the former first round pick who has had a pro career marked by injury and bouts of wildness.

After tomorrow's game, the Twins will fly to Washington for two exhibition games against the Nationals. Phil Hughes will face Tanner Roark on Friday and Ricky Nolasco will face Joe Ross on Saturday.

As we get to the end of camp, some players who could use a strong finish include Oswaldo Arcia (.196), Eduardo Escobar (.250) and Joe Mauer (.278).

Here are the extra players the Twins are taking to Washington for the two games against the Nationals.
