They had an off day Thursday, and Friday’s original series opener with the Tigers was postponed to May 11. … C Mitch Garver hit three home runs in New York and leads the team with a .474 batting average. … SS Jorge Polanco is at .375 with eight extra-base hits. … Batting leadoff, RF Max Kepler has a team-high eight RBI. … Berrios has 21 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. … The Twins were 16th in MLB with a 4.40 team ERA and seventh in opponent batting average (.215) before Friday’s games. … After six off days in the first two weeks of the season, the Twins are scheduled to play 12 consecutive days and 25 of the next 26.

Tigers update

Detroit (8-5) entered Friday in second place in the AL Central. … LF Christin Stewart leads the team with two home runs and 10 RBI but is only hitting .175. … Two-time MVP Miguel Cabrera, who had season-ending biceps surgery after only 38 games last season, hasn’t homered in 54 plate appearances. With 465 career homers, the 36-year-old is destined to be the 28th member of the 500 Home Run Club. … LHP Matt Moore, who pitched 10 scoreless innings in two starts, suffered a right knee injury Saturday and could be facing surgery. The former All-Star for Tampa Bay signed as a free agent after spending last season with Texas. … Ross gave up one run in seven innings Sunday vs. Kansas City.
