The Twins have received lefthander Miguel Sulbaran from the Dodgers as the player to be named later in the July 31 trade that sent Drew Butera to Los Angeles.
Sulbaran, 19, went 6-4 with a 3.01 ERA (23 games, 16 starts) for Class A Great Lakes of the Midwest League. In 92.2 innings, he's walked 27 and struck out 85.
More details to come.
Meanwhile, can Samuel Deduno follow Andrew Albers with a masterpiece of his own?
The Twins' righthhander is coming off of a shaky start last week against Kansas City. Before that, he was the best thing going in the Twins' rotation, so he's looking for a bounceback outing tonight at Target Field. Deduno, 7-5, 3.38 overall, is 2-1, 4.13 in his career against Cleveland.
Deduno pitches one night after Andrew Albers endeared himself to the hearts of Twins fans with a complete-game shutout of the Indians on Monday. Albers is the first pitcher since Tom Phoebus in 1966 to go at least eight innings in his first two major league starts and not give up a run in either game (Thanks Elias Sports Bureau).
Stay tuned for updates.....
UPDATE: Sorry, had a meeting, believe it or not, and everything got pushed back.
