The Twins, in first place in the American League Central at 19-15, open a six-game homestand with three against Colorado, their first National League opponent of the season. … The Twins are 7-5 all-time against Colorado, including 4-2 at home. … This is the Twins' first meeting with the Rockies since 2014, when Minnesota took two of three at Coors Field. ... Since being called up on April 23, Kennys Vargas leads the Twins with 13 RBI. … Talk about being unfamiliar — no Twins hitter has faced Marquez or Freeland, and only Jason Castro has faced Chatwood (two at-bats).

ROCKIES UPDATE

The Rockies (24-15) lead the National League West. … Twins fans will get to see one of the best third basemen in the game in Nolan Arenado (pictured). … Yes, that's Mark Reynolds at first base. The same guy who hit 44 homers and struck out 223 times in 2009 for Arizona. He's off to a fantastic start. … Colorado has a nice lineup that is fifth in the National League in runs scored, but the Rockies pitchers are getting it done, too. Opponents are batting .244 against them, the fifth-lowest mark in the league. … Former Royals closer Greg Holland leads the majors with 16 saves.
