About to head into Gardy's office for the pre-game presser. Will check back later with updates.

UPDATES

  • The Twins will stick with 13 pitches indefinitely. The guess here is that that they'll keep the extra arm through most of the upcoming road trip.
    • Denard Span still hasn't played nine innings in a minor league game yet as he eases his way into playing following his concussion. But Span did have two hits on Saturday.``The talk is getting him to the point where he is playing nine inning for four or five days in a row then seeing where we are at." Gardenhire said.
      • Gardy said he thinks once Joe Mauer found out he wouldn't hurt the team while playing first base he embraced playing there more. ``I think he's confident he can do it now," Gardy said. `So there are no issues."
        • Gardy feels much better today after battling with viral and sinus infections in recent days. ``Yesterday actually was the first day I screamed at some of my coaches (in a while)," he said.

Detroit's Victor Martinez is batting .382 against the Twins this year.. But he is catching today, and has thrown out just 19.4 percent of basestealers this season.
