Twins-Braves: Postgame

Twins lose 4-2

March 30, 2011 at 11:54AM

The replay of the game is on right now, and Nick Blackburn had pretty good stuff. A few pitches were up in the zone - I think Blackburn got five of his 12 outs on grounders - but he faced the minimum over four innings.

He looks poised to have a good year. In addition to his elbow surgery his legs are in great shape. That hasn't always been the case for someone who has had surgeries on both knees.

He's healthy and confident, which definitely doesn't hurt.

Some other stuff:

Tsuyoshi Nishioka got caught in no man's land in the fifth when he went after a grounder that was out of his reach. Alexi Casilla fielded the ball and had a play at second, but Nishi couldn't get to the bag,

``Nishi has to be on the bag," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. ``We yelled at Ryo, and he said it nicely to Nishi."

Gardy was joking, I think.

Joe Nathan got through the sixth but two of the outs were hard hit balls. According to replay, he hit 90 on the gun. He threw a couple nice sinkers (I think they were sinkers) but other pitches were up a little. Will be interesting to see how long it will take him to find his slider and get it into the mix.

Matt Capps didn't have it Tuesday but Chase Lambin should have made a play on the ball hit his way in the ninth. Lost an out there.

The Twins were 0-for-2 in stolen bases, as David Ross put on a clinic behind the plate for the Braves.

Sleep fast, folks. You have ball to watch at 11 am. I hope they get the game in so you can watch your team in action.
