TWINS UPDATE

The Twins split a four-game series at Boston last season, including a 2-1 win during which Gibson pitched eight strong innings. … The Twins have won five of their past six games and are 11-8 against lefthanded starting pitchers. … Despite coming off athree-game sweep of Cleveland, the Twins were 4-for-22 with runners in scoring position. … The Twins need to make a roster move to clear space for Santiago to make his start.
