The Twins swept Baltimore in three games at Target Field shortly before the All-Star break. They exited that series 4½ games behind the Royals in the AL Central. They haven't been that close to first place since. ... Twins manager Paul Molitor has been pleased not only with Miguel Sano's pop at the plate but also with his play in limited duty at third base. ... Several Twins have good numbers against Chen, including Brian Dozier (.385 average, one home run), Joe Mauer (.357, one HR), Eduardo Nunez (.364) and Trevor Plouffe (.308, one HR). ... Torii Hunter is a career .311 hitter with 14 home runs and a .902 OPS at Camden Yards. ... Since 2007, the Twins are 10-13 at Camden Yards.

ORIOLES UPDATE

Catcher Matt Wieters returned to the lineup Tuesday after being out since Aug. 11 because of a right hamstring strain. The Orioles, however, plan to keep three catchers on the roster for a while. ... Baltimore has won 16 of its past 24 games, including a four-game weekend sweep of the Oakland Athletics. On Sunday, Baltmore hit four homers during an 18-2 rout of the A's. ... The Orioles have good neutralizers for the Twins' lefthanded hitters late in games. LHP Zach Britton is the closer and is holding lefties to a .104 average and no home runs. LHP Brian Matusz is holding lefties to a .139 average and one homer. ... Ex-Twin J.J. Hardy homered off of Gibson when they last met on July 7 at Target Field. ...
