This is the start of a seven-game homestand, their last before the All-Star break. … They are 25-15 at home, but only 6-8 at Target Field since June 1. … They are 148-152 all-time at home against the Orioles. They have won the season series against Baltimore only once (2010) in the past seven seasons. … They reached the 81-game (halfway) mark having scored 338 runs and allowed 333, the first time in five seasons they have a positive run differential at midseason. … Orioles CF Adam Jones is 8-for-48 (.167) in his career against Phil Hughes, but with two home runs. C Matt Weiters is 7-for-35 (.200) against Hughes, but Manny Machado is 6-for-13 (.462). … Closer Glen Perkins, 27-for-27 in save situations this season, is 4-for-4 all-time against the Orioles.

After riding an 18-5 streak into first place in the AL East, the defending division champs have lost five of their last seven to fall to second. … This is the second half of a six-game road trip; they lost the first two games in Chicago against the White Sox before winning 9-1 Sunday . … They are 17-23 on the road and 8-4 against AL Central teams. … They designated ex-Twin Delmon Young for assignment last week, but former Twins J.J. Hardy (.237, 4 HRs) and Chris Parmelee (.246, 4 HRs) remain. … Their bullpen ERA of 2.27 since April 29 is the best in the majors. Closer Zach Britton has converted 23 of 24 save chances, and they are 36-0 when leading after seven innings. … They are batting .308 with runners in scoring position, also best in the majors. … 3B Manny Machado’s 95 hits rank fifth in the AL; Chris Davis is ninth in homers with 18.
