A Twin Cities woman driving an SUV in western Wisconsin hit a utility pole and was killed, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred midafternoon Friday on Hwy. V, just west of Red Cedar Lake in Barron County, the Sheriff's Office said.
The driver, Katherine Emmerson, 65, of Falcon Heights, was dead at the scene, the Sheriff's Office added.
Emmerson was heading east toward the lake, veered into a driveway off the two-lane highway and hit the electrical pole, according to authorities.
A statement from the Sheriff's Office said it was looking into whether "a possible medical issue" played a role in the crash.
