Twin Cities singer Nick Mrozinski, a.k.a. Nicholas David, has been voted into the top 10 on NBC's "The Voice." The woolly faced bellower and father of two, age 31, earned enough of the public's vote to advance to the next round on Tuesday night's show based on his performance of "The Power of Love" from Monday night.

Mrozinski told local NBC affiliate KARE-11 afterward that he's deeply missing his young sons back home (in Eagan), and he's using that to his advantage when it comes time to sing his guts out. "It's like this big weight on my heart, but [I'm trying] to use that as strength and motivation," he said.

Between Huey Lewis this week and the Hall & Oates tune that got him through two weeks ago, I can't wait to see which Billy Ocean, Rick Springfield or John McCafferty & the Beaver Brown Band tune "The Voice's" brain trust will have him singing next week. Still, Nick's talent shines through the song selections and his "Jesus thing" appearance (as Blake Shelton put it), and he seems like a strong contender to last for at least a few more weeks.
