Lyric Arts Cabaret is Friday, Saturday
The Lyric Arts Main Street Stage will hold its annual Cabaret Fundraiser shows this Friday and Saturday, at the theater's home at 420 E. Main St., Anoka. The show will feature songs and roles from Broadway musicals.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. both days, with a silent auction, games and other activities preceding the 7:30 p.m. show.

'Ghosts' walking tours back for 2014 season
The Ghosts of Anoka walking tours begin a new season this week, with outings on Thursday, May 8, and Saturday, May 10. The tours, presented by the Anoka County Historical Society, blend "history and mystery."
They start at 7:30 p.m. at the Anoka History Center and last about an hour and a half. Advance reservations are required. Tickets are $7.50 for adults ($5 for Historical Society members) and $5 for youth. Call 763-421-0600 or go to www.anokacountyhistory.org

May 17 concert marks Armed Forces Day
The great room at the Isanti County Historical Society will be transformed into "Sweet Sue's Music Hall" for a May 17 Armed Forces Day concert. Angie Senger, Joe Chock and Doyle Peck will perform at the event, set for 6 p.m. at the ICHS Heritage Center, 33525 Flanders St. NE, Cambridge.
Tickets are $12 and can be bought online at www.ichs.ws or at the Heritage Center, which is open 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Tickets can also be purchased at the door, if available.
