The Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota will perform "The Nutcracker" Nov. 19-21 at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center, 12600 Nicollet Av.

This full-length production of the ballet will feature a cast of 120 performers, including professional dancers from local and national ballet companies as well as area ballet students.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 19, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 20, and 2 p.m. Nov. 21.

Book group to discuss Hmong memoirThe Burnhaven Library book group will discuss "The Late Homecomer" by Kao Kalia Yang during its meeting at 7 p.m. Nov. 23. With the Burnhaven Library closed for remodeling, the group meets at the Burnsville Barnes & Noble, 828 W. County Road 42.

The book is Yang's memoir of her family's flight from Laos to a refugee camp in Thailand to the United States, where they eventually settled in St. Paul and encountered a new array of challenges as they adapted to their new home.

The Burnhaven book group usually meets the third Tuesday of each month, but it will not meet in December. Meetings are free and open to anyone. For more information, call Maggie Hein at 952-891-0314.
