He's got the look

Prince could never deliver a proper follow-up to "Purple Rain," but "Sign O' the Times" comes close. The 1987 concert film, shot largely at Paisley Park, hasn't been seen on American television for more than a decade. That — and the chance to see guest star Sheena Easton at her sultriest — is reason enough to continue paying tribute to the late genius.

Come and knock on our door

The original "Will & Grace" had the Midas touch when it came to guest stars. Matt Damon, Michael Douglas and Janet Jackson all pop by during a seven-hour marathon of reruns. Preparations for the show's return later this month continue Tuesday with NBC's "The Paley Center Salutes the Best of Will & Grace."

TV's night to shine

If Stephen Colbert scores as host of "The 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards," it'll be because he resists going down the political rabbit hole and focusing instead on what's really important — like whether Minnesota's Louie Anderson can hold off "SNL's" Alec Baldwin to repeat as best supporting actor in a comedy. The Star Tribune will have full coverage throughout the event and Monday morning.

7 p.m. Sunday, WCCO, Ch. 4
