Cabin fever

Amy Thielen of Two Inlets, Minn., and a frequent contributor to the Star Tribune's Taste section, goes national with "Heartland Table" (9:30 a.m., Food), a six-part series that was shot in the kitchen of her log cabin home. PBS' Lidia Bastianich is one of the producers.

Prices as marked

Lori Loughlin, best known for putting up with the boys on "Full House," gets into Nancy Drew mode in "Garage Sale Mystery" (8 p.m. Saturday, Hallmark), which would be the perfect companion piece to my proposed movie, "The Spring Cleaning Incident."

Not necessarily the news

Yes, I'm fully aware that "The Newsroom" (9 p.m. Sunday, HBO), which wraps up its second season, is about as realistic as Kent Brockman's updates on "The Simpsons," but it's also an opportunity to watch wonderful actors like Jane Fonda and Jeff Daniels play with Aaron Sorkin's near-poetic dialogue. Stick around for a bombshell ending that even diehard Sorkin-ites won't see coming.
