TV picks for Oct. 5: 'Our Souls at Night,' 'SuperMansion,' 'Scandal'
Robert Redford and Jane Fonda are a little old to go barefoot in the park, but they're bound to generate sparks in "Our Souls at Night," a romantic drama about two widowed neighbors in Colorado. Talk of Redford's retirement from acting seems to be premature, which is good news for anyone who saw him turn back the clock in "All Is Lost" and "A Walk in the Woods."

Tricks and treats
"SuperMansion: Drag Me to Halloween" isn't likely to be the season's scariest offering, even though it stars the voice of "Breaking Bad's" Bryan Cranston, but the animated series is almost always worth checking into, especially when famous friends Lake Bell and Keegan-Michael Key join in the haunt.

Term limit
"Scandal" kicks off its seventh and final season, leaving the stage slightly earlier than it probably had to. Shonda Rhimes is wise to get out before the characters wear out their welcome, although if the executive producer uses her free time to get behind clunkers like "Still Star-Crossed," maybe she should think about extending Olivia Pope's term a little longer.
