In this corner

The title for "Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight" (7 p.m. Saturday, HBO) is slightly misleading in that it features the boxer only in stock footage. Instead, we get a heavyweight bout between Warren Burger (Frank Langella) and John Harlan II (Christopher Plummer) as the Supreme Court decides Ali's fate after he refuses to be drafted into the military. Despite the lack of ringside action, this drama carries a punch.

Wrecking ball

Miley Cyrus hosts, performs and provokes on "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11), a show that got off to a good start last week despite the massive overhaul in the cast. Of course, the newcomers had Tina Fey to lean on. No such support this time around.

Shop till you drop

Somebody over at "Masterpiece Theatre" must be a shopaholic. Last year, we got "Mr. Selfridge," which was set in an early-20th-century department store. Now it's time for "The Paradise" (8 p.m. Sunday, TPT, Ch. 2), a limited series set in a Victorian-era department store. Who knew there was so much drama to be had among the aisles?

Homerboy

It's the 24th "Treehouse of Horror" edition for "The Simpsons" (7 p.m. Sunday, KMSP, Ch. 9), and they've brought a master of suspense to help celebrate. Guillermo del Toro, best known for "Hellboy" and "Pacific Rim," directed the opening couch gag.
