No Cannes do

Alec Baldwin and writer James Toback pitching a legitimate film at the Cannes Film Festival is a tantalizing idea for a documentary. Unfortunately, "Seduced and Abandoned" (8 p.m., HBO) isn't that movie. Instead the two ship a half-formed, ridiculous concept to multi-millionaires in such a way that it feels like a version of "Punk'd." Guys, leave the practical jokes to Jimmy Kimmel.

Staying in school

"The Graduates/Los Graduados" (9 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2) takes a hard look at the alarming dropout rate among Latino students through the eyes of six determined teenagers. The two-part film concludes next Monday.

Holmes sweet Holmes

Even though they are competitors, most of the late-night hosts are a pretty tight posse, so it's perfectly understandable that "The Pete Holmes Show" (11 p.m., TBS) will debut with the extremely likable Holmes visiting Jon Stewart.
