Smarty pants

Austin Rogers isn't quite done showing off his big brain. The Macalester College grad who became one of the top five most successful contestants in "Jeopardy!" history returns for the two-week "Tournament of Champions," a true test of whether that Twin Cities education really paid off.

The write stuff

"Rolling Stone: Stories from the Edge" looks back at the celebrity coverage of everyone from John Lennon to Britney Spears, but the real stars in this four-hour documentary are the magazine's reporters, whose words are brought to life by Jeff Daniels and Johnny Depp. The film may end up inspiring young viewers to pick up a pen instead of a guitar. Part II airs Tuesday.

Showtime at the Apollo

Conan O'Brien, always at his best when he's on the road, opens a week worth of "Conan" shows at Harlem's Apollo Theater with a guest list that includes Stephen Colbert, Keegan-Michael Key and the cast of "Daddy's Home 2," which includes Mel Gibson.
