Top of the mountain

Jake Gyllenhaal once came across as another Hollywood pretty boy. No one would apply that label now with one challenging role after another, including his latest in "Nightcrawler." The turnaround can be traced back to 2005's "Brokeback Mountain," a film that's even more poignant after the death of co-star Heath Ledger. 5 & 8 p.m. Logo

This is the end

NBC has mercifully killed "Bad Judge" (8 p.m.) and "A to Z" (8:30 p.m.), but the network says it will let the sitcoms remain play out their full 13-episode runs. Yeah, right. Don't be surprised if executives yank the shows mid-airing and replace them with cats playing pianos. KARE, Ch. 11

New kids on the block

In a perfect world, the "You Oughta Know Concert" would be an acoustic set from Alanis Morissette. Actually, it's a concert hosted by Nicole Richie and featuring such new stars as Sam Smith, Vance Joy, Aloe Blacc and Bleachers, a power-pop act that — you oughta know — is fronted by Lena Dunham's boyfriend, Jack Antonoff. 8 p.m. VH1
