Tourist attractions

Historian Don Wildman racks up the frequent-flier miles in the new series "Monumental Mysteries" (8 p.m., Travel), revealing stories behind Mount Rushmore, Alcatraz and dozens of other sites you keep promising to visit.

Cannon shots

In "Nick Cannon's Big Surprise" (9 p.m., E!), the multi-talented entertainer pays back his grandparents by giving them a home makeover. That's followed by pleasing his wife, Mariah Carey, by releasing her from the hostage situation also known as "American Idol."

Goodnight, Irene

Sherlock Holmes is having flashbacks, which means "Elementary" (9 p.m., WCCO, Ch. 4) will finally introduce viewers to Irene Adler, the detective's long-lost love. Natalie Dormer will play the iconic role over the course of the next three episodes.
