To the manor born

"Gotham" wraps up a solid first season with the Riddler, the Penguin and other super-villains developing their claws, while a young Bruce Wayne explores the manor for secrets about his late father. 7 p.m. KMSP, Ch. 9

All apologies

You don't have to be a fan of Nirvana to be touched by "Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck," the first fully authorized documentary of the band's frontman. Brett Morgen, who previously helmed documentaries on the Rolling Stones and Robert Evans, uses a variety of storytelling devices to present a three-dimensional figure, largely misunderstood by the public. 8 p.m. HBO

Everybody loves Dave

Ray Romano narrates "David Letterman: A Life in Television," a special that looks back at the icon's 30-plus years in late-night television. Romano is a fitting host; his sitcom, "Everybody Loves Raymond," was produced by Letterman's company. 8:30 p.m. WCCO, Ch. 4 Neal Justin
