Old friends

Steve Martin and Martin Short haven't refreshed their act much since performing in Minneapolis last summer, but watching these two old hands bust on each other in "Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life" remains a timeless treat. Perhaps the pair will have some new antics when they appear Aug. 10 at Treasure Island Casino.

Kat Dennings' stint as a wisecracking, animated waitress in "2 Broke Girls" serves her well in "Dallas and Robo," a cartoon series that relies almost solely on the actress' impression of a randy Han Solo. John Cena is her partner in galaxy-hopping, but he's overmatched by Dennings' sassy space trucker, who clearly relishes the chance to take the steering wheel.

Private parts

You know Howard Stern has mellowed when his most biting jokes in "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman" focus on the host's beard. While this sit-down isn't the strongest of the first season's chats (that title goes to the episode with Jay-Z), it should do nothing to dampen Letterman's chances of crawling back into Emmy contention.
