It's time for the championship rounds of the "88th Annual National Spelling Bee," the equivalent of March Madness among nerds. It's actually a lot more intense than you might think. 7 p.m. ESPN

The age of Aquarius

If you love the first episode of "Aquarius," the new series featuring David Duchovny as a homicide detective who goes up against Charlie Manson, you won't have to wait a minute to get the rest of the story. Taking a page from Netflix, NBC will make all 13 episodes available the day of the premiere, a first for network TV. For more traditional-minded viewers, the series will still unspool weekly throughout the summer. 8 p.m. KARE, Ch. 11

Local boy done good

Nick Swardson, who got his start doing stand-up in Minneapolis as a teenager, is definitely in the big leagues these days as he shares the couch with Whitney Cummings on a new episode of "At Midnight." 11 p.m. Comedy Central
