Hate crime

Mob violence is certainly nothing new in this country, as director William Wellman pointed out in 1943's "The Ox-Bow Incident," in which cowboys suspected of being rustlers were lynched. Henry Fonda's dramatic reading of a man's final words is one of cinema's most moving moments. 7 p.m., Encore Westerns

This means war

Things are getting even nastier on "The Bachelorette" — if you can believe that. This time, two female contestants will have to duke it out before choosing "the love of her life." The rose industry must be making a fortune. 8:01 p.m. KSTP, Ch. 5

A reason to dance

In a repeat of a 2012 ceremony, Ellen DeGeneres receives the "Mark Twain Prize" with a guest list that includes Steve Harvey and Jimmy Kimmel. Something tells me that PBS won't be rebroadcasting Bill Cosby's 2009 induction anytime soon. 9 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2
