Creature features

Not all mutants turn into superheroes. All month long, TCM is paying tribute to scary creatures that would give Spider-Man night sweats. This week's prime-time marathon kicks off with 1958's "Rodan," in which miners discover the nest of a pterodactyl. Giant scorpions, ants and mantises fill the rest of the evening.

Traveling allowed

Charles Barkley takes a break from hurling insults at current NBA stars to examine race relations in "American Race," a new limited series that's just the latest example of mainstream TV taking a hard, sobering look at the issue. Barkley's journey has him visiting Baltimore, North Texas and Hollywood.

8 p.m., TNT

Mouthing the words

Back when Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson were working the late-night shift, hosts weren't expected to do a little bit of everything. But that doesn't mean the veterans aren't game. The two jokers go head to head in an edition of "Lip Sync Battle," the show based on a popular Jimmy Fallon bit.
