Strong cup of coffee

Minnesota native Kevin Sorbo sets aside his Hercules persona and taps into his feminine side as he fills in as co-host on "The View" (10 a.m. Friday, KSTP, Ch. 5). I'm looking forward to the segment when he compares muscles with guest Sigourney Weaver, who put the "ripped" into Ripley for the "Alien" movies.

New York state of mind

He needed only four minutes to save the world, but it looks like Justin Timberlake will need a full week to save NBC. The pop star returns to host "Saturday Night Live" (10:30 p.m. Saturday, KARE, Ch. 11), then sticks around Manhattan to appear Monday through Friday on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" (11:35 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11).

Hitting the right notes

In the premiere episode of "Song by Song: Dolly Parton" (7 p.m. Sunday, Ovation), Parton explains how "I Will Always Love You"and "9 to 5" made her more money than you could fit into the best little whorehouse in Texas. Future installments of this inventive series explore the development of "Jolene" and "Coat of Many Colors."

Military matters

Seems like half of Hollywood wants to join the "Army." Ashanti, Jesse McCartney and Brooke Shields are among the top names who will appear during the seventh season of "Army Wives" (8 p.m. Sunday, Lifetime), one of cable TV's biggest hits.
