Deadly disease

Ken Burns serves as executive producer for "Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies," a three-night, six-hour documentary that follows the disease from its first mention in an ancient Egyptian scroll to scientists tackling the problem in modern-day research centers. Barak Goodman directs. The film continues Tuesday and Wednesday. 8 p.m. TPT, Ch. 2

"The Big Picture With Kal Penn" gives the "Harold & Kumar" star a chance to show off his serious side in this series that explores how numbers and data can give us a better understanding of our lives. First up: A look at crime in the United States. 8 p.m. National Geographic Channel

As long as you love me

"The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber" promises to be an irreverent affair with the likes of Hannibal Buress, Natasha Leggero and Jeffrey Ross tossing out zingers, but you won't hear the most politically incorrect moments. Jokes about the late Paul Walker were edited out of the final product. 9 p.m. Comedy Central
