Double Dave

Dave Chappelle, whose work is almost as hard to track as Banksy's graffiti, has released two stand-up concerts, 2016's "Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin" and 2015's "Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas," both of which remind us that he's one of the best in his field. The elusive comic is currently working on a brand-new Netflix special.

Unknown comic

While rumors circulate on a more permanent "Gilmore Girls" revival, its creator is busy trying to launch a new cult favorite. Amy Sherman-Palladino is the force behind "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," starring Rachel Brosnahan, a fast-talking, quick-thinking housewife who stumbles into the world of New York comedy in the 1950s. The first episode is part of Amazon's spring "pilot season," in which viewer response will play a role in whether it picks it up as a full series. Put my vote in the "yes" column.

The amazing two

No one was more thrilled than I was to see Jennifer Jason Leigh get her first Oscar nomination last year for "The Hateful Eight," but the recognition didn't exactly set off a wave of tributes. To see why she's one of our most underrated actors, check out the double feature of 1994's "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle" and 1995's "Georgia."
