Welcome to the neighborhood

For a mischievous imp, he sure attracts a lot of big names. "Dennis the Menace" (6 p.m., Encore Family), "Dennis the Menace Strikes Again" (7:40 p.m.) and "A Dennis the Menace Christmas" (9 p.m.) may not have been Oscar bait, but the three films did rope in Walter Matthau, Don Rickles, George Kennedy, Joan Plowright, Robert Wagner, Louise Fletcher and, um, Carrot Top.

Geniuses at work

If you think you're uneducated while watching "Jeopardy!" just think how downright stupid you'll feel watching a repeat of 2011's "Nova: Smartest Planet on Earth" (8 p.m., TPT, Ch. 2), in which an IBM computer takes on the masters of that brainy game show.

Swing and a miss

It's been only six years since Tobey Maguire hung up the Spidey costume, but Hollywood had to go ahead and reboot the franchise. Last year's "The Amazing Spider-Man" (10:15 p.m., Starz) isn't terrible, but it's a victim of bad timing. Give us a chance to miss a superhero before reintroducing him in pretty much the same package.
