Holding out for a hero

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hosts "The Hero" (7 p.m., TNT), an exciting twist on "The Apprentice" with diverse candidates working together — and apart — to show off their savvy and strength. The production values and challenges are much more impressive than we usually get in this bloated reality genre.

All shook up

Elvis Presley wouldn't have cared much for this version of "Graceland" (9 p.m., USA), a new drama about undercover agents who share a California mansion. USA has invested a small fortune in promoting this potential breakout series.

Keeping up with the Johnsons

Bloomington native Brandon Johnson, who has spent much of his career on the Disney Channel ("Shake It Up!," "Hannah Montana") and soap operas ("One Life to Live"), toughens up his image by hosting "72 Hours" (8 p.m., TNT), a new competition series in which contestants are left in the wilderness to find $100,000 in cash.
