Mad about the Motor City

Alice Cooper, Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Ford Motor boss Bill Ford are among the talking heads in "Detroit: Comeback City," a documentary tracing the city's tumultuous past century through the story of its grand Michigan Central Station, a showplace that was abandoned for decades but is being reborn as a potential tech incubator.

Porno for pyros

You haven't seen fireworks until you've seen Mexico's National Pyrotechnic Festival. The documentary "Brimstone & Glory" brings us to Tultepec — a village that's essentially a company town for the pyrotechnics business — for what's billed as a "caution-free" 10-day event celebrating San Juan de Dios, the patron saint of fireworks makers.
