We're No. 1

Finally, after all these years of mocking the Timberwolves' draft picks, the Minnesota hoops team has the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft. Will they choose Karl-Anthony Towns or Jahlil Okafor? Or will they make a trade — say, Ricky Rubio — to try to pick up an extra player in the first round? At least the suspense won't last long. The Wolves have 15 minutes to make the first pick at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. There will be 60 picks in two rounds, which are expected to last five hours. 6 p.m. ESPN

Play it again, Boyd

He may not be as well known as Bel, Randy or Julie, but KARE 11 reporter Boyd Huppert has deservedly earned many awards and plaudits for his weekly "Land of 10,000 Stories" series (with photojournalist Jonathan Malat). In an hourlong special, Boyd — he's worthy of one-name status — revisits some of his more memorable recent reports, including a World War II veteran and his 4-year-old neighbor pal and the Willmar High School cross-country coach who won a state championship while assimilating Somali students onto the team. 9 p.m. KARE Ch. 11

Spacing out

With Gus Grissom heading into space, Betty Grissom turns to Louise Shepard for counsel on "Astronaut Wives Club." Annie Glenn gears up for meeting the press and dealing with her stutter. Enjoy a glass of Tang while you watch. 7 p.m. KSTP Ch. 5
