May the force be with you

Helen Mirren is nowhere to be found in "Prime Suspect: Tennison," but you'll scarcely miss her thanks to a subtle performance by Stefanie Martini, who plays the detective as a 22-year-old rookie, back when optimism was still an option. The case in this three-part prequel is a bit of a snoozer, but watching Jane Tennison slowly develop her shell — and drinking habit — will be a treat for "Masterpiece" fans.

Alison Brie gives her goody-two-shoes image from "Community" a body slam in "GLOW," an aggressively funny new sitcom about the "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling" trying to fight off sexism, hair-pulling and 1980s wardrobes. Comedian Marc Maron is a revelation as the team's caustic manager.

For much of the Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs documentary "Can't Stop Won't Stop: A Bad Boy Story," the title could be referring to its subject's ego. It's at these times that Combs truly shines.
